Who is the BC Ataxia Society?

The BC ATAXIA SOCIETY is a non-profit registered Charity and Support Group for those whose lives have been affected by a form of Ataxia.

We are proud to support ataxia research at the Neurogenetics Clinic and the Centre for Molecular Medicine at UBC Hospital in Vancouver.
We  meet regularly in the Lower Mainland offering support and welcoming Speakers.

What is Ataxia Video  

(please also refer to our FAQ page for more facts on Ataxia).

The following video titled ‘What is Ataxia’ was filmed, animated and directed by BCAS member and fellow ataxian Glenn Ter borg. It was chosen as a finalist in The Genescreen BC Competition 2011.

Dr. Aaron Sturrock featured in the video is a ‘fellow’ at the UBC dept. of Molecular Science in Vancouver, BC under the direction of Dr. Blair Leavitt. The BC Ataxia Society has had the pleasure of having both doctors speak at previous meetings and hope to welcome them again in the future.
